Keep Humidity Out

In Atlanta, as I am sure is the case in many places, humidity is a major problem. Like, major. And I have frizzy hair. It's a real bummer when I have spent about an hour straightening it and making it sit down just to have all of that erased as soon as I walk out the door.

Living Proof has found a solution. After 30 years of research, you no longer has to use products with a silicone base (weighs down your hair). This company has developed Polyfluoro Ester, a smaller molecule to help frizz control. I'm not a scientist, so I'm not even going to try to explain how it works, but it does.

I have tried the shampoo and conditioner and also the No Frizz Styling Spray. It really helps keep my hair from poofing (the technical term for frizz). I love it!

I opened my mail and looked at Dream Belle Designs beautiful jewelry and can't believe that I get so lucky to play with and try out stuff like this. Susan Walz, the artist behind Dream Belle, is super talented. I love her materials and colors. I don't know if she focuses on fall colors all the time, but right now, that's the scheme she is using.

In addition to her colorful beads and baubles, Walz twists the metal she uses and the effect is awesome. All of her jewelry is made from 92.5% sterling silver, real copper, brass, and fine silver, unless otherwise stated. So, if you have allergies, don't fear.

I reviewed the Crazy for Copper Rustic / Light Lime Green Jade Tear-drop, Antiqued Chain Necklace. This necklace is stunning. The Jade tear drop stone stands out against the muted color of the copper. The wrapped copper wiring adds to the appeal of this piece's beauty.

I also tried the Falling Leaves / Reddish Brown Carnelian Rondelle with Copper Earrings that are a burnt orange color. They are also held together with copper wiring. These will go great with warm winter and fall clothes.

Lucky for all of you, Dream Belle Designs is having a sale right now!! This is a great place to get jewelry for the ones you love for Christmas.

Mark Poulin

Mark Poulin is an awesome artist who converts his super cute drawings into jewelry. Many of his works are double sided, so you can get two great pieces for the price of one. Poulin's jewelry is made of sterling silver and enamel on sterling silver. On his Etsy site, of himself, Poulin says, "I love to make things, I love to buy things. Etsy works for me."

I reviewed his sterling silver Aries necklace which is absolutely amazing. It is a very cute little ram in a dress. I like that it's not overly-zodiac. I like my sign, but I don't always want to be really obvious that I am wearing something Aries.

I also checked out the reversable Star Kitty and Little Space Kitty necklace. It is made out of enamel. I love cats, as you know. So, this is perfect. There are little hearts and stars that make this necklace super cute and the primary colors color combination matches with almost everything.

Heavy Tees' Heavy Rotation (In Your Closet Too!)

You wouldn't think a great tee company would sprout up in Milwaukee (snow, snow, and more snow), but one has! Heavy Tees' line, Heavy Rotation, makes super soft and really cute tee shirts. These Milwaukee natives say,
We love tee shirts. Our goal is to outfit the world with the finest t-shirts on the market. This is no easy task. In February, we wake up to 4 degree weather, dig ourselves out of 16 inches of snow, and make our way down to the shop to design, create, and ship our tees around the world. These long winter days help fuel the creativity that goes into Heavy Rotation. Authenticity, innovation, and quality are key ingredients in every shirt we ship. We are not driven by money, fame, or the 4 finger rings that come with our world’s typical version of success. We design from within making our success more personal. Our version of success comes in the form of seeing our shirts worn until they fall apart.
You will certainly want to keep these shirts around until they are unwearable! And then a nice tee quilt will be in order.

I tried out 2 of Heavy Rotation's designs. Both are really cute (the heart earth is very reminiscent of the 70's) and fitted. There is nothing like being comfortable in something that hugs your curves. I have a problem finding tees that are small enough or that are fitted the right way. Heavy Rotation fits me perfectly. My tees make me feel sexy and sophisticated. I am glad that Atlanta is having a short warm spell so I can wear these out and about. Heavy Rotation's tees are so comfortable, rubbing them on my face feels good.

Heavy Tees offers baby and kid lines as well. Make sure to check out their Mini Rotation!

Booly Wooly

Wooly Bison is an awesome bag line made from recycled suit jackets, new and vintage. The creations Wooly Bison comes up with are amazing! No two bags are exactly alike. I love the fun material used! A purse out of a suit jacket, what an amazing idea?

The bag I reviewed is great! It can fit all of my stuff and has pockets for all of my essentials. While I couldn't fit all of the knitting stuff in there, this purse is still great (I don't need to have my knitting materials at all times). There are two sizes to choose from, purse and duffel. So, however much you need to lug around with you at all times, Wooly Bison has you covered.

T.U.K.

T.U.K. is an awesome shoe company that can make you feel rock n' roll just by what is on your feet! Born in England and raised in California, T.U.K. produces eclectic shoe lines that bring out the inner rocker in those of us who need a little help, and enhances the rocker in those who are already in touch. T.U.K. represents originality and fun! Check out the slide show and find a look for you!

I reviewed the Women's Kitty Mary Jane and I just love them! These shoes are so cute and fun! There is a black cat on the toe with a tail curling around from the back. They are comfortable and are a real fashion statement. I also reviewed the Naughty or Nice shoes from the Sugar & Spikes collection. They are sexy, comfortable and super fun! I love the stud on the side of these pumps!

You Send Me

You Send Me is a very cute card company with a very cute name. As the "Original Glittery Card," each of You Send Me's cards has at least a dash of glitter, if not more. Some of the cards even have beads or rhinestones included in the design. My favorite are the cards that have a single picture, a dash of glitter, and a glitter border at the bottom. The inside of the cards usually has a cute and simple line. I also love many of You Send Me's newer cards, which feature more intricate designs. Once you use see your card recipient's eyes light up when opening a You Send Me card, you will wonder how you ever lived without these glittery delights.

I have included some of my favorite designs. If you are interested in purchasing any of these cards, please visit You Send Me's online shop. If you cannot find the card there, you can find a list of stores who carry You Send Me here.

50's for Halloween

Do you know what you are going to be for Halloween? I have an idea, but I'm not too sure yet. These days, Halloween can get really expensive with all of the accessories and shoes, not to mention the actual costume.

Hip Hop 50's Shop can outfit you, the toddler in your life, and any girls that you hang with. They sell the poodle skirts, all of the accessories needed, and the crinoline you'll need to get your skirt to poof!!

My guest model, Mika, has a wonderful time jumping around in her skirt and playing with her brother. She looks adorable in the pictures!

Krista Grecco

While in college, I had the pleasure of taking an art class under the direction of Krista Grecco. The class was a 2D class, and Grecco is a ceramicist, so there were humerus moments to be had. Despite her lack of 2-dimensional art knowledge, Grecco is an amazing sculptor and ceramicist. She plays with the idea of normal and her art is often thought provoking. About her work, Grecco says,
I view my sculptures as souvenirs of life, immortalizing the awkward, piecing and pairing together the partially remembered bits of our past. I draw from memory, allowing the media, popular culture and the tales of my own and others to mingle and mangle together. Old stuffed animals, figurines and dolls are forms that I like to work with because they are absolutely steeped in nostalgia and peculiarity. Beyond the surface of sugary-sweetness lies a residue of life, reflected in the nicks and tears that detail an unknown past. I am not concerned with portraying the physical exactness of an object or figure, I want to reveal the emotion linked to its memory; the visceral details. As a result, my work seems to exist in a realm between attractive and repulsive, real and unreal.
She now teaches at Georgia State University and Kennesaw State University. If you are in Georgia, hurry and take one of her classes now! She is a guest instructor and won't be around forever!

Pump Up Your Lips

Fusion Beauty has just released INFATUATION: Place Fat Where You Need It Most. This product is a
new, revolutionary Amplifat technology that promotes and stores lips' own natural fatty acids on contact for never before achievable natural long term plumping....LipFusion technology...results in a multi-action formula that plumps, fattens, defines, smooths and firms lip instanstly and over time.
INFATUATION's AmpliFat technology was used in clinical trials over 28 days. At the end of the study, INFATUATION was proven to increase the volume of lips. This is a pretty amazing find!

I never thought that I would put something on my body that would make it fatter (even if only on my lips). When I applied the LipFusion INFATUATION, my lips tingled a bit, but not painfully like some other plumping glosses I have tried.

NOTE: I have extremely small lips.

After waiting a few minutes, I can tell my lips are a little bigger, just by the way they feel. As noted, I have very small lips and the difference is slight. They haven't buldged to a miraculously large size, but they are a little more full. This is nice. I looked in the mirror and can see that they are fuller, not voluptous, but a bigger. But, then again, we have my tiny lips to start off with, so people with normal sized lips will probably see more of a difference. I have my roomie now trying it out. Her lips are substantial.

What I do love about INFATUATION is the array of stunning, yet natural colors. Every skin tone will be able to find a color for her. Many lip plumpers only come in two or three colors and I usually can't find one that looks good on me.

Fusion Beauty has many other amazing products to naturally enhance your beauty; check it out! You can also find Fusion Beauty products at Sephora, Utla, Dillards, and other nationwide retailers.

P.S. LipFusion did plump my roomie's beautiful lips. They are now fuller and, yes, a little voluptious. In case you were wondering they are pictured right...
